Let us Pray: The Collect for 4th Week of Easter

O God, whose Son Jesus is the good shepherd of your people: Grant that when we hear his voice we may know him who calls us each by name, and follow where he leads; who, with you and the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

News in Brief

Reception/Confirmation Classes
The remaining Confirmation/Reception class on Sunday, April 28, has been cancelled due to the Hope Rising Convocation and Bishop White's visit to the area on that date.

John 10:11-18 Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand, who is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away—and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. The hired hand runs away because a hired hand does not care for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd. For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life in order to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it up again. I have received this command from my Father.”

An Irish Spring Event

On a beautiful fair-weather Saturday evening, April 13, St. Paul's hosted an Irish Spring. The usual festive church crowd mixed with visitors who had heard about the event came for an evening featuring traditional Irish food (corned beef and a roasted vegetable stew), Irish beer, and live music provided by Jameson's Folly, who fulfilled their promise to provide fiery fiddle licks, irresistible harmonies, and get many to the dance floor for a round of Irish Ceili dancing called by Anna Bumiller.

Dinner and desert were available for an $8 donation to the church and an Irish beer could be had for $6. Proceeds from the event will support our Community Outreach Program.

April Movie Night, 4/30

Join us on Tuesday, 4/30, for April Movie Night when we will be showing Roxanne (1987) starring Steve Martin, Daryl Hannah, Fred Wilard and Shelley Duvall. Perhaps the success of this modern-day Cyrano de Bergerac retelling is the genius of Steve Martin's screenplay.

Join us for dinner at 6:00pm, movie at 6:30, and popcorn throughout.

GROW!  This Sunday, 4/21

GROW! is an intergenerational worship, fellowship, and formation opportunity that will meet in April on the second and third Sundays from 5-7pm.

MTD Total Expense is off from budget. Primary drivers are unfavorable Buildings & Grounds [$1.5k] and Insurance [$5.5k] (quarterly insurance payment was budgeted in April) partially offset by favorable Administration $2.2k [the Diocese covered the vestry retreat expenses].
YTD Total Income $126.0k vs budget $134.6k; unfavorable variance [$8.6k]
YTD Total Expense $160.4k vs budget $157.7k; unfavorable variance [$2.7k]
YTD Surplus/[Deficit] [$34.4k] vs budget [$23.0k]; unfavorable variance [$11.4k]

Unfavorable variances include Insurance [$5.5k] and Utilities [$1.9k] partially offset by favorable Total Clergy, Staff and Contractors $1.1k and Total Administration $1.4k.
