Walking the Way of the Cross

Lent 2024 at St. Paul’s

Journey together through the Season of Lent as we draw closer to God through prayer, study, fellowship, and service. Keep reading (below) to learn more about Lent and how you can be a part of our Lenten journey.

Prayer & Worship

Prayer is at the heart of everything we do as children of the Father. Through prayer and worship, we draw near to Jesus as he approaches Jerusalem and his passion. Through worship, we draw nearer together as the Body of Christ. Click the anchor to participate in our Daily Offices & Masses.

Fasting

Lent is a time to examine the desires of our heart by giving some things up and taking on new things. Click the heart to explore this Lenten theme.

Service

Jesus said, “You are the light of the world.” Get involved in St. Paul’s service ministries or take on your own sacrificial activity. Click the globe to learn more.

Confession & Reconciliation

"Forgive us our since as we forgive those who sin against us."
The Sacrament of Reconcoliation (also know as Confession of a Penitent) is offered to all who seek it.

Study

Jesus taught his apostles as one with authority. This Lent, commit to reading the Scriptures and join the Lent Book Club as we learn about Black Spirituality as a resource for our own spiritual lives. Click the book above or scroll down to learn more.

Fellowship

Jesus prayed that his church would be one as he and the Father are one. This Lent, let’s become more connected with each other through coffee hour, one-on-one fellowship, and small groups. Click above to see our schedule of events.

Lenten Book Study - Tarry Awhile

This year, we're reading Tarry Awhile: Wisdom from Black Spirituality for People of Faith, The Archbishop of Canterbury's Lent Book 2024 by Dr. Selina Stone, a researcher at Durham University. Mike Higton has this to say about our Lent book: "This is a feast of theological wisdom, scriptural reflection, and pastoral insight. Dr Stone achieves a rare and delicate balance between calling us to action and counselling us to rest, between the energising and the restorative, between challenge and comfort. It is a book to savour!'" Click below to purchase the book. Our group will meet on Wednesdays at 6pm for a simple dinner and discussion in the Cloister & Library. Stop by the Parish House or talk to Fr. Dan for booklets and pamphlets about this study opportunity.
Click the video above to watch Dr. Stone's introduce to Tarry Awhile, our 2024 Lenten Book Study book.
