But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
To him be glory both now and forever. Amen. ( 2 Peter 3:18)
In the Episcopal Church, Christian Formation is the lifelong process of growing in our
relationship with God, self, others and all of creation. We are continually provided with
opportunities for exploring, reflecting, articulating, expressing and shaping our Christian faith. Everything in a life is formative; so it’s important to bring focus to those things that sharpen our Christian understanding.
We ask God to guide our formation programs as we learn, pray and serve, demonstrating
Christ’s love by being the church in the world, on God’s path for us. We believe that Christian
Formation is the way we evolve in our relationships with God and each other. Our goal at St.
Paul’s is to LEARN through Scripture, worship and fellowship, to PRAY regularly and to SERVE every person with love and compassion, as Christ loves us. With this mission, we offer programs for people of all ages, including intergenerational projects that bring the parish family together. We celebrate our time together on Sunday mornings with Adult Christian Education and Christian Education programs for children. These sessions engage us in Scripture while challenging us to be current in thoughts and actions.
During the week, we offer Bible Book Club for more intense discussion about selected books of
the Bible, served up with a light dinner. We also offer yoga classes for body/spirit connection, a resource library for further reading on Christian topics, including books suggested by the
Diocese of Southern Ohio for our common study of the Book of Exodus.
For young ones, we focus on the Godly Play curriculum, nurturing natural faith-building by
engaging curiosity, questions and the sacred act of storytelling. For older children, our focus is
on service: in church and parish as well as out in the world. What does it mean to be the church in the world? It’s the doing that answers that question! Many special programs are offered as well, including Vacation Bible School, Youth Mission Project events and more.
